HyeFighter Art Hovhannisyan put on a great display of boxing effectively, smartly and strongly.  His quickness and power were never in doubt as he clearly dominated the first 4 rounds and ended the bout by knocking out his opponent in the 5th round after knocking him down once in the end of the 4th round and twice more in the fifth round.  With this win Artyom improves his record to 9 wins, 0 losses and 1 draw with four of the wins coming by way of knock out. This fight was clearly the fight of the night at Oscar De LaHoya's Golden Boy Promotions' Club Nokia Fight Night.

Artyom's fans were numerous as well as extremely supportive. And, Artyom did not disappoint any of them.  Fellow HyeFighters attended in droves and cornered Artyom.

As a result of this deal HyeFighters Art "Lionheart" Hovhannisyan will be fighting at the Nokia Club on September 24th. HyeFighter Darchinyan to Fight in Armenia?

The President of the Republic of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, received Gary Shaw, promoter of world super flyweight champion & HyeFighter Vic Darchinyan, and Gagik Tsarukyan, President of Armenia’s Olympic Committee, on Tuesday in the Presidential Palace located in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan. Shaw informed President Sargsyan that he plans to organize a Darchinyan world title fight in Armenia for spring 2010. Darchinyan, a two-division world champion, is a native of Armenia.

“Armenia has never hosted a professional boxing event much less a world championship fight, so who better to headline than Armenia’s No. 1 sports personality, Vic Darchinyan,” said Shaw. “President Sargsyan expressed his readiness to assist in the implementation of this event. He also expressed confidence that it would attract thousands of Armenian boxing fans and would be an excellent opportunity to present Armenia to the world since this would be televised internationally. I look forward to promoting this historic event and I thank Vic and Elias Nasser for their continued support as friends and partners. It is because of them that I am afforded this wonderful opportunity.”

Wins the WBO Intercontinental title!!!

Undefeated HyeFighter super middleweight champion Karo Murat (20-0, 12 KOs) made his light heavyweight debut a successful one, conviniently outpointing Italy-based Ukrainian Sergey Demchenko (13-3, 10 KOs) over twelve one-sided rounds. Smaller but much faster Murat seemed to be competing in a wrong weight class, as he looked too tiny for 175lb, but he delivered a world-class performance against his rugged foe nevertheless. He used his diverse offensive to deliver a punching clinic to Demchenko but was unable to rock him really hard. However, he took almost every round with his rate of fire. The Ukrainian fighter, on the other hand, wasn’t able to utilize his size advantage and knockout power, missing widely all the time. At the end, all three judges scored it unanimously in favor of the local fighter: 117-111 (twice) and 120-108. Fightnews had it 119-109. Murat acquired the vacant WBO Intercontinental title during the process.
